Preschool News

As the school year comes to a close, we want to thank all of our families for a great year! All ETSD preschool families had the opportunity to come together on June 14th for our final Preschool Meet-up of the 2025-2026 school year for a Playdate in the Park. Families and staff were able to connect with each others, participate in gross and fine motor play, and learn about local resources and activities. Student are encouraged to do at least 5 activities from each:

 

During the month of May, preschoolers were encouraged to participate in the final reading challenge of the 2025-2026 school year, which was inspired by the Kentucky Derby, Super Readers Race to the Finish Line Challenge. Earlier in the month a preschool exhibit was showcased at the 32nd Annual ETSD Art Show from May 11th to 22nd. In addition, May saw various studies around seeds, water, and gardening. School Wellness Week was celebrated during National Nutrition Month. This year's theme was "Discover the Power of Nutrition" and the week of March 23rd was selected for School Wellness Week. Preschool students participated in theme days connected to healthy eating and play, as well as participated in fun gross motor activities throughout the week. ETSD Wellness Night was held on Tuesday, March 24th at DeMasi Schools from 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. The PIRT team showcased preschool and students had the opportunity to make friendship bracelets. Other events that evening included interactions with therapy dogs, creation of healthy snacks, team-building activities, and more!

 

Preschool celebrated the 100th and/or 101st school day with special activities to acknowledge this milestone in February. Winter highlights also included The Great Kindness Challenge in January, Valentine celebrations in February, and our WinterFest Community Event that took place on March 1st. March was National Reading Month, click here for our March Reading Challenge. The schools also planned engaging learning opportunities that were integrated throughout the month to celebrate literacy. Parent Workshop:

The EOY parent workshop session on June 9th at Rice Elementary School was cancelled due to low enrollment numbers. We will reschedule for the fall.
