School District Performance

State of the Schools

A graduation cap rests atop a stack of colorful books, with a diploma rolled and tied beside them.

Annually each fall, the district provides a State of the Schools presentation to highlight achievement from the previous school year in the following four areas:

  • ESEA Performance
  • District Assessment Results in LA & Math
  • Standardized Testing Results from NJSLA and CogATs
  • Data Review Process & Analysis

Results are utilized to determine focus areas for the current school year and in determining district, school and individual teacher goal areas. In addition, professional development and curriculum writing, planning and implementation are targeted in identified areas.

Focus areas for all content/related arts areas are as follows, these are further defined for staff in the areas of literacy, math, science, and social studies at department/grade level meetings:

  • Implement classroom differentiation strategies and support to meet specific student needs based on a variety of assessment data.
  • Emphasize purpose and intent in the planning stages to increase focus on learning across lessons.
  • Reduce scaffolding, where appropriate, so that teaching can be responsive to what students are demonstrating independently.
  • Enhance SEL competencies with a focus on empathy & self-regulation.
  • Intentionally select technology tools that authentically support learning, including meaningful test prep integration, where appropriate.

In addition, annual performance report are released in the spring and provide additional graphs connected to state assessments, as well as a variety of other data measurements. See below for summary information from the latest performance reports.
