The ETSD recognizes the benefits of healthy students; therefore, we support school health and wellness policies and practices that address the physical, social, and emotional needs of our students. Our goal is to promote the health and well-being of the whole child. Recognizing that education cannot achieve this alone, the district supports a coordinated school health program (CSH) model consisting of the following eight interactive components: health education; physical education & physical activity; nutrition environment & services; health services; counseling, psychological & social services; physical environment; employee wellness, and family engagement. This approach or process facilitates a blending of resources and personnel in the school and local community.

Our District Wellness Committee meets annually to review school health and safety policies and procedures in order to continually reflect on current and best practice in the field of health and physical education. School Wellness Week is celebrated annually in each of our schools during National Nutrition Month in March. This year's theme is Fuel for the Future and the week of March 20th was selected for School Wellness Week. Please join us for ETSD Wellness Night on Wednesday, March 22nd at DeMasi Schools from 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. Click here for more information. In addition, each school is required to complete an annual self-assessment that is presented to the public at the May/June Board of Education Meeting.
