Research requires the use of a variety of information sources.
Remember to cite your sources.
 

1. Encyclopedias

Use a general encyclopedia to give a overview of your topic or to find facts quickly. Printed (see the Reference shelves) or online encyclopedias are available.

2. Books
Use the library catalog to find books on your topic.While you may not find an entire book on your subject, you may find a chapter in a book by consulting the index. You can also check the burlington county library for additional resources.

3. Magazines and Newspapers (Periodicals)
Use magazine or newspaper articles to find up-to-date information on a topic. EBSCOHOST is a database of periodicals and is available when you are working at school. If you are working at home, you will need to log in to using the username sjrlc451 or use the Burlington County library link. You must have a Burlington County Library card to log on to the Burlington County Library indexes.
 
 
4. Research Databases

A database is a group of articles, reports, data or other information organized so that it can be searched by subject (or by author, title, etc.) The has many research databases that can be reached through the internet.

5. Internet

The world wide web is a powerful source of information (as well as misinformation). Careful choice of web sites is necessary to ensure good information. To help in selecting good web sites, you may use trustede search engines or go to the Subject Links shown to the Demasi Library web page.
