![]() The Office of Curriculum and Instruction guides the development, implementation and evaluation of all instructional program offerings in Supervisors of Instruction are responsible for interpreting and applying current research in curriculum, teaching and learning for both general and special education students, evaluating student performance on district and state assessments, writing and/or revising curriculum, selecting instructional materials, providing professional development, and recommending the adoption of new programs. They oversee the operation of all departments within the district. All curricula are developed in-house by curriculum supervisors in conjunction with teacher and building-level administrators. Specific job responsibilities are designated below: Maria Sobel, Pre-K - 1 Supervisor & Child Study Team LiaisonSupervision of all general and special education teachers and professional staff in the areas of language arts literacy, math, social studies, science and health, grades Pre-K-1; Coordination of IEP program implementation, special education new student placement, and homeless student programming, grades K-8; District APA Coordinator. Mindy Kaufer, 2 - 5 Supervisor Supervision of all general and special education teachers and professional staff in the areas of language arts literacy and social studies, grades 2-5; coordination of Title I, and basic skills in the area of language arts, grades 1-5; supervisor of Reading Recovery and elementary Reading Specialists; supervision and coordination of teachers in the areas of art and world language, grades K-8; District Reading Recovery Site Coordinator. Robin Collins, 6 - 8 Supervisor Supervision of all general and special education teachers and professional staff in the areas of language arts literacy and social studies, grades 6-8; coordination of basic skills in the area of language arts and supervision of Reading Specialists, grades 6-8; supervision and coordination of teachers in the areas of: library/media, music, ELL and school counselors, grades K-8; District Testing Coordinator. Jenn Bland, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics) SupervisorSupervision of all general and special education teachers and professional staff in the areas of math, science and health, grades 2-8; coordination of basic skills math, grades 1-8; supervision and coordination of teachers in the areas of physical education, technologies/computers and nurses, grades K-8; applied design & technology and family/consumer sciences, grades 6-8.
